let us break fast can?
Yesterday, as I was preparing to break fast at Banquet Causeway Point, there were some non-Muslims around looking for a place frantically to sit down too. The time? 7pm. What time do the Muslims break fast? 7.08pm.
And as I was walking towards my seat, there was this non-Muslim family - their dad specifically - was complaining about not having any place to seat! I, who inexplicably understand Mandarin thanks to my years of watching Chinese dramas(you guys should watch too by the way), understood every single word he was complaining about. He was like, "You see, there's not even a seat for us! How to eat like that? We can't even have dinner. Not fair." But what he doesn't know is, life's unfair. Where else can we, the Muslims, eat? When I look around Causeway Point, these are the eating place I witness :
and those are just a few. I mean of course fast food and a couple of eating places are halal. But when we are fasting, we tend to eat real food. Good, nice food. And the only place we can think of is Banquet. I mean we only take the seats like 1 hour maximum. From 6.45 to 7.45. After our break fast, they can eat all they want. At least they ate lunch. Can't they spare a thought for us and just let us eat our food peacefully? There was this non-Muslim couple sitting beside me and Fana, and I was quite sad to see them not giving way to those Muslims searching for a seat to break fast. Where's the racial harmony and understanding? And on Thursday, it was a breaking fast session with Izyan and Bad at Magic Wok at City Hall. Supposedly meeting time was at 6.30pm. As I knocked off early at 5.30, I went there at around 6pm and found out that 3/4 of the place was reserved. Luckily I reached there earlier. And Fana was with me. Cause Izyan was late by half an hour! Kalau tak, aku jadi legung duduk sorang2. Haha! And as expected, around 7pm some non-Muslims came into the store and wanted to eat there but left out all disappointed and whiny as they approached the exit door after about errrr 5o seconds of coming in. Sad, but yea wattodo. I mean you guys have eaten lunch! For those who skipped lunch due to a bloated stomach, not-hungry syndrome or keep shitting while working, its not our fault! So please, have the courtesy to at least let us religiously break our fast. I think its about time to put a reminder in the calendar in Singapore to inform everybody when fasting starts. To let them know. Cause some of them don't even know the fasting period has started! Some are legung bacin to the max. Call them Maha Legung Bach. MLB. You guys have so many stalls, so many foodcourts to go to. But no, you people had to go to an all-halal food court or restaurants. Come on, please, for this 1 month, give us the green light. Give us the benefit of the doubt. If not, in future there should be a rule saying not to eat between 6.45pm-7.45pm at an all-halal foodcourts/restaurants to those not fasting. Cause if we can tahan one whole day, I think you people can tahan just by delaying your much-needed and much anticipated dinner by an hour. Just an hour. Within an hour, just window-shop around and walked around and *poof* the next time you know it, its 7.45pm. And its your turn to eat. Thanks for your kind understanding. I hope I won't hear any complaints anymore. Hidainilson Out. . . . |
