where did the tradition go??
You know, during my tenure as part of the NYP Silat Team committe, we have kind of a tradition.
In fact the previous batches has started this tradition.
I don't know when, and I don't know how.

The tradition is farely simple.
Each time silat training has been concluded, we would hang around at the club room and discuss our destination next.
Places to eat.
Where to go.
And so on.
From there, we made our decision and have a good bonding group together.
We joked and laughed together.
We shared stories, be it in all seriousness or not.
We catch up on things.
Not only Saturdays, but Wednesdays too.
On Wednesdays though, our favourite hanging out is at AMK's coffee shop.
A supper to make the bond stronger among all of us, doesn't hurt.

Nowadays, I don't go for the trainings.
Because of army commitments and maybe I don't have that sense of belonging from the current batch.
But I do hope that they still carry out that trend.
I know each and every one have their own commitments.
Like their own sets of friends.
Close family ties.
The bfs and gfs.
But why not just take a couple of hours of the time and spend it knowing whats going on in each of the pesilats' lives?
I'm sure there's more than just the physical toughness of them.

Sometimes I still wanna go for the trainings and stuff, but people might not like it.
Like I'm past the expired date.
And old guard.
Like why do I still come when I'm done and dusted in the team?
Maybe they'll be thinking like, "Asyik2 datang aje...".
Its like I'm looking for popularity.
I'm not.
I come to enjoy their company.
To train with them.
To have a laugh with them all over again.
To catch up on things.
To know whats the training like.
Its as simple as that.
No fame. No popularity contest. No glamours.
Haiz.

Anyway, don't you find it ironic how someone breaks up and gives a lame excuse "I can't commit in a long-term relationship" after 11 months into the relationship?
I don't mean to add fuel to the fire, but its just bullshit.

And have you ever seen a full-time nyonya in her 50s with white hair on most of her head smoking like an Ah Lian whose walking down Orchard Road looking like she's going to whack somebody, before?
I just did.
About a couple of hours ago when heading home.
Oh the wonders of observing people.
